“X-Men by Jonathan Hickman Omnibus” Coming Later this Year
Last week, we fully updated our list of all upcoming Marvel Omnibus Editions to include all of the most recent announcements from Marvel. However, since this update, we already have more news about a new Omnibus Edition. The news is particularly exciting because it collects material from a recent comic run that already looks like it may turn out to be a classic.
X-Men by Jonathan Hickman Omnibus is currently set for release on December 7, 2021. The volume is set to collect X-Men (2019) #1-11, #16-21; Giant-Size X-Men: Jean Grey And Emma Frost (2020) #1; Giant-Size X-Men: Nightcrawler (2020) #1; Giant-Size X-Men: Magneto (2020) #1; Giant-Size X-Men: Fantomex (2020) #1; Giant-Size X-Men: Storm (2020) #1; and material from Incoming (2019) #1. This gathers together Hickman’s work on the main X-Men series and several of its tie-ins. The only exclusion seems to be the X-Men issues that tie in to the X of Swords event, which already received its own deluxe hardcover.

We’re already getting a Hickman X-Men omnibus but still no Bendis X-Men omni? What’s the deal?
So does this pick up where House and Powers of X hardcover leaves off?
I wish the entire storyline would be released in omnibus form, starting with “House of X”/”Powers of X”, followed by “Dawn of X”. Essentially, I’d like “Dawn of X”, which is only in softcover, in omnibus form, so the reading order is correct. Putting out Hickman’s “X-Men” in omnibus seems like it would be disjointed story-telling. I don’t want to go back and forth between this and, say, “Excalibur omnibus” and “Marauders” omnibus. to read things chronologically.
