The Purge franchise starts with The Purge. Fans don’t need to watch anything else before watching the first film.

The entire series starts with a trilogy of connected films. First is The Purge, then The Purge: Anarchy takes place, and, finally, The Purge: Election Year. These films all feature different plotlines and characters but center around similar themes and ongoing plot threads.

After this trilogy, The First Purge was released. This is a prequel that looks back at the origins of The Purge. Around the same time, The Purge television series was released. This series looks at individual Purges that have taken place.

Next, The Forever Purge continued the story of the saga. It picks up on plot points that were introduced at the end of The Purge: Election Year and generally continues the storyline.
