The Godfather starts the trilogy, The Godfather Part II serves as both a prequel and sequel to the first film, and The Godfather Part III concludes the narrative. Watching all three Godfather movies in order produces the best viewing experience.
There is also an alternative film that can be added into this viewing experience. The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone is a recut version of The Godfather Part III that was designed to be more true to director Francis Ford Coppola and writer Mario Puzo’s initial plan for the movie. Viewers can choose to watch The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone instead of The Godfather Part III or in addition to The Godfather Part III.
