The Conjuring Chronological Timeline Watching Order

This watching order is designed to give an outline of The Conjuring movie franchise in the order of their internal timeline. This viewing order presents the films in the chronological order, not in release order.

The Conjuring in Timeline Order

The Conjuring franchise is essentially split into a main storyline and several tie-in storylines. The Conjuring films focus on Ed and Lorraine Warren as they investigate various paranormal occurrences. The tie-in films provide additional information about the other characters who appear in the main films, often elaborating on their backstory.

The earliest movie in the franchise is The Nun (2018), which details events from the Nun’s past. Then, Annabelle: Creation (2017) looks at Annabelle’s origin while Annabelle (2014) helps set up Annabelle’s appearance in The Conjuring (2013) (Continuity). After The Conjuring, Annabelle Comes Home (2019) shows what happened to Annabelle immediately after The Conjuring. Next, The Curse of Llarona (2019) has a character from Annabelle help out with another paranormal event.

The Conjuring 2 (2016) (Continuity) continues the Warren’s story and sees the return of the Nun. Then, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2016) continues the Warren’s story again.
