Specifically, this page is split into a “Rocky Watching Order” and a “Creed Watching Order”. The “Rocky Watching Order” looks at the six Rocky films while the “Creed Watching Order” looks at the three Creed films.

Rocky Watching Order
The Rocky film franchise starts with Rocky (1976). This film starts the entire Rocky franchise and is the first entry in the original series of films.
The initial Rocky films proceed in a mostly straightforward order. This series starts with Rocky (1976), continues with Rocky II (1979), continues again with Rocky III (1982), continues again in Rocky IV (1985), and continues again in Rocky V (1990). For these first five films, each film takes place within a year or a few years after the previous film’s conclusion. Each film is also mostly centered around a fight between Rocky and another boxer.
This trend changes somewhat with the sixth film. Rocky Balboa (2006) continues the story of the series but takes place over a decade after Rocky V. It deals with an older Rocky and the rise of a newer, younger boxer.
