Iron Man Phase One Watching Order

Iron Man is introduced in his first solo film and the first film in the entire MCU, Iron Man (Continuity). There is nothing to the MCU before this point, so nothing prior to this point is required viewing.

Iron Man tells Iron Man’s origin story and begins to explain his place in the world. Then, Iron Man 2 directly continues this narrative and expands on who Iron Man is and where he plans to go from his origins. Finally, the era concludes with The Avengers. This final film brings plot points from several different superhero origin stories together for a climactic team-up adventure.
