Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) Watching Order

Nowadays, there are quite a few cinematic universes out there to choose from. There is the DCEU (Watching Order), the MonsterVerse (Watching Order), and, the most famous option, the MCU. However, right alongside the MCU is Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. This is a world with a connection to the MCU but that is still distinct and different from it.

If you’re interested in exploring Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, you’re in the right place. This Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) Watching Order will guide you through all the movies in this cinematic universe. It will explain the order they take place and any relevant connections between them.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) Watching Order

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe started with Venom. This was designed as a standalone film that doesn’t require watching anything else beforehand. Venom is directly followed by the sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which continues the storyline. However, this film doesn’t just reference the first Venom film, it also references some of the MCU Spider-Man movies (Watching Order).

This is where the connection starts between Sony’s Spider-Man Universe and the MCU. These universes come into contact as a result of the multiversal events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Despite not being part of the SSU, Spider-Man: No Way Home has a big impact on it. It explains the end-credits scene from Let There Be Carnage and even goes on to impact Morbius. Because of this important connection, we’ve included some of the MCU Spider-Man movies on this watching order as well.

After the Venom movies, the next SSU film is Morbius. This film is less connected to the other SSU films and really only has a significant reference to the MCU Spider-Man movies. So, you can theoretically watch it without seeing the Venom movies.

After Morbius, Madame Web was released. This is another potentially standalone SSU movie. However, it still seems like it will contain small connections to other Marvel properties.

  2. The end credits scenes from Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home are directly connected, with Spider-Man finishing the scene that started in Venom. In addition, the end of Morbius has a reference to the multiversal changes that took place across Spider-Man: No Way Home and involves a character from Spider-Man: Homecoming.
