Ice Age Watching Order
The Ice Age franchise starts with Ice Age (2002). Fans do not need to watch anything prior to this first film.
The main Ice Age movies progress is a very straightforward manner. The series starts with Ice Age (2002), continues with Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006), continues again with Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009), continues again with Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012), and continues a final time with Ice Age: Collision Course (2016). Each film takes place shortly after the film before it, with the exception of Continental Drift, which takes place sixteen years after Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and Collision Course, which takes place five years after Continental Drift.
The Ice Age series also has several special films. Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas and Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade are essentially holiday films, centered around Christmas and Easter respectively. These made-for-TV movies star the cast from the main films and take place during the period of time indicated on this reading order. Meanwhile, The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild is a streaming exclusive centered around the adventures of Buck Wild, with other members of the main cast only making supporting appearances.
