Top 5 DC Comics Covers- March 2018
With a month of comic book releases behind us, we’re taking a look at the best cover art March of 2018 had to offer. Check out these beautiful looking comics right here:
5. Doomsday Clock #4 by Gary Frank
This is a strange cover to a series that is already steeped in mystery. It instantly raises a number of questions that may or may not ever be answered. What is the new Rorschach’s connection to breakfast food? How will this play a part in the overall story? Is a stack of pancakes sometimes just a stack of pancakes? No matter what the answers, it gets the reader read to dive back into this series.
4. Wonder Woman #42 Variant Cover by Jenny Frison
All of Jenny Frison’s covers for the Wonder Woman series have been fantastic. This one depicts the Princess of Themyscira looking over a scenic mountain view. The landscape, the lighting, and the colors all make this a cover to remember.
3. Damage #3 by Tony S. Daniel & Danny Miki
Tony S. Daniel always does a marvelous job with drawing monstrous looking creatures, something we learned back in Superman/Wonder Woman Vol. 2 (Review), so it is no surprise that he does an even better job when drawing a monster he co-created. This cover pairs Damage with Wonder Woman and entices readers with the possibility of the duo crossing paths.
2. Dark Nights: Metal #6 by Greg Capullo
The final issue in this fantastic series has Batman riding on a giant dragon that looks like the Joker. If there is a better way to sum up this entire series in one single image, I can’t imagine it. This over-the-top design perfectly matches the action-packed nature of this comic (something we discovered in our review of the issue). Batman fans are sure to remember this comic for a long time to come.
1. Harley and Ivy Meet Betty and Veronica #6 by Tula Lotay
This cover is a delight for fans of both DC and Archie comics. Tula Lotay’s art presents the titular duos in a mysteriously alluring set of panels. The character designs here are bold, striking, and fierce in the best way possible. The artwork here makes this a comic worth picking up for the cover alone.
