With a month of comic book releases behind us, we’re taking a look at some the best cover art July of 2018 had to offer.

5. Justice League Dark #1 by Raúl Fernández, Alvaro Martinez

In the fallout of the No Justice event, a number of new Justice Leagues arose. Raúl Fernández and Alvaro Martinez entice readers to discover a world of magic and wonder with their cover for the first issue of Justice League Dark.

4. Batwoman #17 by Dan Panosian

This Batwoman cover does an excellent job in highlighting Kate Kane as a character without objectifying her. Instead, it gives readers a creative clue as to what villain this particular issue will focus on. Plus, the entire cover is so cryptic and creepy that it is sure to encourage readers to dive into the story and discover what is going on.

3. Batman #50 by Mikel Janín

Batman #50 covered the somewhat controversial Batman/Catwoman wedding. Regardless of your feelings about what happened within the issue, it is hard to deny that the cover is anything less than gorgeous. Batman and Catwoman look fantastic on this cover, in a way that invites readers to discover more about their ever-elusive romance.

2. Hawkman #2 variant by Stjepan Šejić

What could be cooler than having Hawkman extend his wings and swing his mace at a powerful enemy? The answer: have that enemy be a gigantic dragon. This cover celebrates Hawkman’s physical prowess and his unique connection to the mystical side of the DC Universe.

1. Catwoman #1 by Joëlle Jones

A few months ago, Joëlle Jones stunned the comic book world with the debut of a creative and fitting take on a wedding dress for Catwoman. Now, this very same wedding dress graces the cover of the first issue in Catwoman’s new comic book series. This relaxed and seemingly carefree take on Catwoman feels unique and raises one’s curiosity about where the next chapter in life will take her.
