“Superman: Birthright”, “Batman: Curse of the White Knight”, and Three More DC Deluxe Editions On the Way

When we recently updated our full list of upcoming DC Comics Deluxe Editions, we commented that there are less Deluxe Editions on the way then usual. Now, this problem has been corrected, as five new DC Comics Deluxe Editions have been solicited.

The upcoming releases include Harley Quinn: 30 Years of the Maid of Mischief The Deluxe Edition, Batman: Curse of the White Knight Deluxe Edition, Batman: The Long Halloween Haunted Knight Deluxe Edition, Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, and Superman: Birthright The Deluxe Edition. We broke down some information for each of these new collections below. Further down, we also provide a straightforward list that details the name of the collection, what it collects, its release date, and a product link.

Harley Quinn: 30 Years of the Maid of Mischief The Deluxe Edition simply collects a wide selection of Harley Quinn’s adventures. These range from some of her first few appearances to selections from her more recent solo comics. This is similar to other releases like Detective Comics: 80 Years of Batman Deluxe Edition or Green Arrow: 80 Years of the Emerald Archer The Deluxe Edition.

Batman: Curse of the White Knight Deluxe Edition collects the first sequel to the Batman: White Knight series. This continues the line of White Knight Deluxe Editions that began with the release of Batman: White Knight Deluxe Edition.

Batman: The Long Halloween Haunted Knight Deluxe Edition collects a range of specials that were published after Batman: The Long Halloween. DC has recently been publishing nearly all of The Long Halloween comics in Deluxe format. Currently, this list includes the original Batman: The Long Halloween Deluxe Edition, the sequel Batman The Long Halloween Deluxe Edition The Sequel: Dark Victory, and the Catwoman-centric sequel Batman The Long Halloween: Catwoman: When In Rome Deluxe Edition. A Deluxe Edition for Haunted Knight effectively rounds out this publishing effort, giving the combined Deluxe Editions the same material as the Batman by Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale Omnibus.

Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition collects the original “Death of Superman” storyline and some bonus material. This is a pretty straightforward Deluxe Collection for a memorable event in comic history.

Superman: Birthright The Deluxe Edition collects the Superman: Birthright miniseries. I was actually pretty surprised to realize that this miniseries had yet to be collected as a Deluxe Edition. It is generally regarded as one of the greatest Superman stories of all time and works as a standalone narrative, both of which make it a perfect candidate for the Deluxe treatment. With this collection’s release, it will give new and old fans another way to appreciate this comic.

  • Collects Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight Halloween Special #1, Batman: Madness – A Legends of the Dark Knight Halloween Special#1, and Batman: Ghosts, A Legends of the Dark… #1.
