“Stranger Things” Comics are coming as Library Editions and as a Box Set
Shortly after Netflix’s Stranger Things began to really take off in popularity, Dark Horse Comics began publishing multiple Stranger Things comics. Thus far, there have been four original miniseries, three original graphic novels, and one crossover miniseries. Now, nearly all of this material is set to be collected through a series of Library Editions, Dark Horse’s premium way of collecting comics, and as Box Sets.
Stranger Things Library Edition Volume 1 is currently set for release on August 31, 2021. The volume is set to gather together the Stranger Things: The Other Side and Stranger Things: Science Camp miniseries. These comics follow the main cast of the television show in between what happens in the show. Other Side focuses on Will’s time spent trapped in the Upside Down, during Season One, and Science Camp focuses on Dustin’s time at Summer Camp, between Season Two and Season Three.
Stranger Things Library Edition Volume 2 is currently set for release on November 2, 2021. The volume is set to gather together the Stranger Things: Six and Stranger Things: Into The Fire miniseries. These comics shift the attention from the show’s main cast to the nefarious happenings at Hawkins Laboratory. Both Six and Into The Fire focus on a few of the super-powered children who escaped Hawkins and are now trying to figure out what to do next.
The Stranger Things Graphic Novel Boxed Set is currently set for release on November 23, 2021. This box set is set to gather together trade paperbacks for the Zombie Boys, The Bully, and Erica the Great original graphic novels. These are, currently, the only three original graphic novels set within the Stranger Things universe, which makes this Box Set an easy way to collect them all.
Altogether, these two Library Editions and one Boxed Set will collect almost all of the Stranger Things comic book content out there. The only significant exclusion is the crossover between Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons, collected in Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons. However, since this is the most recently published Stranger Things miniseries, I have hope that it could be collected in a future Library Edition, though only time will tell.
