New 52

At the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe was reset. In this new continuity, Earth 2 (Reading Order) was introduced as a new universe where alternate versions of various heroes existed. This universe shares many characters with yet is very distinct from the pre-New 52 version of Earth 2. Val-Zod was introduced along with this new version of the DC Universe.

Notes
  1. Val-Zod's appearances in these issues are extremely small. However, they help explain pieces of the storyline between his larger appearances in other issues.
  2. Val-Zod only makes a very brief appearance in this issue. However, the issue shows some of the details behind his arrival on Earth, which may be interesting for some readers.

Rebirth - Universe

Val-Zod only has a few extremely limited appearances in these eras. He makes a quick cameo in Superman Vol. 4 #14, collected in Superman Vol. 3: Multiplicity (Review) and in Dial H for Hero #10, collected in Dial H for Hero Vol. 2: New Heroes of Metropolis. He also makes an appearance alongside a number of heroes from the Multiverse in Justice League Vol. 4 #26, collected in Justice League Vol. 5: Justice/Doom War (Review). This larger appearance is still not necessary in following along with his character's history but at least shows that he is an active member of the larger Multiverse.
