Shado Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring Shado throughout DC Comics. It may not encompass every one of her appearances but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

New 52

At the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe’s continuity was reset. This reset removes all of Shado’s prior appearances and gives her character a completely blank slate when it comes to history.

She is reintroduced through the Green Arrow series. There, she has a moderately large role in a storyline that directly relates to Green Arrow (Reading Order) and the newly introduced Emiko (Reading Order).

Green Arrow issues are from the Vol. 5 series

Rebirth

The transition from New 52 to Rebirth does not introduce any significant continuity changes for Shado. Her story in this era picks up immediately where it left off in the previous era.

Shado's primary role here plays out in the Green Arrow series. Here, her relationship with Green Arrow (Reading Order) and Emiko (Reading Order) are both expanded upon. Outside of the Green Arrow series, her appearances are minimal and simply involve her operating in an antagonistic role in other comics.

Nightwing issues are from the Vol. 4 series

Notes

1. Shado's appearances in both of these comics is extremely minor and amounts to little more than a cameo. However, they might be of interest for fans looking to see her appearances outside of the Green Arrow series.
