Overview

Dick Grayson's (Reading Order) time as Ric Grayson is a unique period in Nightwing's history. This storyline saw a major change in the status quo, mostly accomplished through actions that resulted in Dick Grayson suffering from memory loss. The adventures he underwent while suffering from this memory loss mark his time as Ric Grayson.

This period of time starts in two issues of Batman, which provide the basis for the entire Ric Grayson concept. This storyline then continues through the Nightwing series, starting in issue #50 and coming to a head in issue #76.

Notes
  1. This issue only features a few scenes with Ric Grayson. However, it offers one of his most significant interactions with the Bat-family, which some fans may find intersting.
  2. A note in Nightwing #75 states that the events of that issue take place before the events of Batman #100. However, Nightwing #75 has characters dealing with the aftermath of The Joker War (Reading Order), which would not make sense if it took place before Batman #100. Because of this, we have placed it in the order seen here, which we believe produces a better reading experience.

Before Reading

This period of Dick Grayson's life is actually relatively independent from other storylines. His recent adventures in Bludhaven are depicted across the Rebirth section of our "Nightwing Reading Order". However, these do not have much of an impact on this storyline. Instead, Dick's time as Ric essentially stands on its own.

After Reading

The Nightwing series continues with Nightwing #77, collected in Nightwing: The Joker War (Review).

  • I’ve loved using this guide and the previous nightwing guide however the Nightwing runs seems to continue up till issue 100. Is there currently or will there be a guide for the issues after #77?
