Post-Crisis

President Superman is introduced toward the end of the Post-Crisis era in DC history. He does not have any appearances before this point.

President Superman is introduced in the final issue of the Final Crisis event. He isn’t the main character in this issue, but it is the first chance readers get to see him and learn about the world he comes from. This issue essentially provides the basis on which all of President Superman’s future appearances will be based.

New 52

Technically, a continuity shift occurs between the Post-Crisis and New 52 eras. However, this seems to have had little impact on President's Superman's continuity, as his role in Final Crisis is referenced at several points in this era.

In the New 52, President Superman's first appearance is in the Action Comics series. Here, he stars in an issue that reveals a more complete version of his origin story. From here, he goes on to play a major role in the main issues of the Multiversity event. His role in Multiversity helps establish a status quo that will play a part in almost all of his later appearances.

Rebirth

The transition from the New 52 to the Rebirth era does not appear to have created any continuity changes for President Superman. Instead, his story picks up right where it left off, with Superman as a part of Justice Incarnate (Reading Order).

Superman and Justice Incarnate reappear in the Superman series. There they form a central piece of a story arc about a Multiversal threat.

Universe

The Universe era is essentially an extension of the Rebirth era, as it maintains the same continuity. President Superman's narrative is in line with this, as his adventures in this era continue his involvement with Justice Incarnate (Reading Order).

President Superman's only major role in this era is as a part of the Dark Nights: Death Metal event. In this event, he appears alongside the rest of Justice Incarnate in order to face off against a Multiversal threat. Outside of this, he has a few small appearances in a few random comics.

Notes
  1. Only the "Crisis on Earth-26" story from this issue is relevant to this reading order. President Superman is only a supporting character in this story, as it mostly focuses on Captain Carrot. However, the story helps highlight the leadership role President Superman has within Justice Incarnate.
  2. President Superman's appearance in this issue is extremely brief. It simply shows that he participated more in the Dark Nights: Death Metal event.
  3. Only the "Bizarro Love Holiday" story from this issue is relevant to this reading order. This story features President Superman as the main character. However, it is pretty short and does little to advance Superman's overall character progression.
