Lobo Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give a timeline of major storylines featuring Lobo throughout DC Comics. It does not encompass every one of his appearances, but is a timeline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

See our “Lobo Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.

New 52

With the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe’s continuity was restarted. Lobo was completely reintroduced to this universe with all of his previous history wiped away. He was introduced in the New 52 through the Deathstroke comic series and plays a very limited role in other comics.

See our “Lobo Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.

Notes
  1. This storyline technically takes place in an altered version of the traditional DC Universe. After a major villain is defeated, the universe is reverted back to normal, so this story can be skipped without consequence. However, Lobo still plays a large role here so fans of his character may be interested in reading this one.

Rebirth

Lobo begins the Rebirth era as a participant in the Justice League vs. Suicide Squad (Reading Order) event. His actions there directly lead to his role in the Justice League of America (Reading Order) series. After departing this series, Lobo went on to play a small role in the Justice League: No Justice event.

Notes
  1. The events of Milk Wars (Review) do not have much of an effect on Lobo's life. However, he plays a small role in the event.
  2. Lobo only makes a small appearance here but it helps confirm that he still maintains a friendly relationship with the JLA (Reading Order).
  3. This comic's relation to the standard DC continuity is a bit unclear but it does have Lobo in a starring role.
  4. Lobo is one of many heroes participating in this event. However, he is somewhat of a minor character whose actions here do not effect his personal story.
