This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring Batman (Jace Fox) throughout DC Comics. It may not encompass every one of his appearances but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.
The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. Rebirth/Universe
Jace Fox is introduced in this era and has no appearances prior to it.
Near the close of this era, a vision of a potential future was presented through the Future State (Reading Order) event. Jace is introduced through this potential future. His appearances here detail some aspects of his character while also highlighting his connection to the rest of the superhero community.
Technically, Jace’s appearances across this era do not take place in the present of the mainstream DC Universe. However, they are Jace’s comic book introduction and help inform his adventures going forward.

- These issues are mostly about Nightwing (Reading Order). However, they feature Batman in a way that enhances the relationship between both of these heroes.
- Batman's appearance in this issue is very brief and only takes place over a few pages. However, it depicts a quick meeting between him and the original Batman, which fans of both characters may find interesting.
- Only "The Cavalry" story from this issue is relevant to this reading order.
Infinite Frontier
This era introduces Jace Fox into the mainstream DC Universe. Though he technically appeared in the previous era, those appearances were in a potential future, not the mainstream present. Despite this, his adventures here have connections to his adventures in the previous era.
Jace Fox immediately takes on a prominent role in this era. He initially stars in The Next Batman: Second Son. This explains the relationship he has with his family while also detailing his superhero origin, both of which are important aspects of his character going forward. From here, he goes on to make a quick appearance in Infinite Frontier #0. After this, his story from Second Son is directly continued in the I am Batman series.
Keep in mind, this era is still in progress and, thus, this portion of the reading order is incomplete. Specifically, the I am Batman series is still being published.
