Grail Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring Grail throughout DC Comics. It may not encompass every one of her appearances but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

New 52

Grail is introduced in the New 52 era. Before this era, she does not have any appearances.

Near the beginning of the New 52, Grail is mentioned for the first few times. Though she does not appear physically, there are comics that allude to the larger role she will play later on. These preludes come to fruition in the Darkseid War (Reading Order) event. Over the course of this event, Grail is introduced, her backstory is explored, and she begins to make a dramatic impact on the DC Universe. The conclusion of this event also serves to set up the role she will play in the next era.

1. Grail does not physically appear in these issues. However, they serve as the first indications that she will show up later on in this era.

Rebirth

The transition between the New 52 to the Rebirth era does not introduce any noticeable continuity changes for Grail. Instead, her story picks up almost immediately where it left off at the conclusion of the Darkseid War (Reading Order) event. 

In this era, Grail's story is mostly told across issues from the Wonder Woman series. These issues expand upon Grail's relationship with Darkseid (Reading Order) and detail how this pushes her into conflict with Wonder Woman (Reading Order).
