Indie Spotlight – 10/23 Update

Hi, there everyone and welcome back to another ComicBookWire update. My name is Tyler and I run, write for, and operate ComicBookWire. This week I’m here to update you on one of the new features we’re launching here at ComicBookWire.

 

Starting today, ComicBookWire will be accepting submissions for our “Indie Spotlight”. This spotlight is designed to celebrate indie comics and highlight some of the best ones. Currently, the plan is to spotlight one indie comic each week in an article that addresses the comic’s positive elements and attempts to pinpoint the audience that may be interested in this particular work. Though the plan is to do one of these articles each week, this plan could change depending on the number and quality of submissions we receive. We’re launching this new initiative to emphasize positivity in lesser known sections of the comic book industry. Our traditional reviews focus on providing critical analysis, which inherently lends itself to negativity. These Indie Spotlights will attempt to eschew this negativity and focus on the positive elements of a comic book. We’re hoping that this new initiative will help prospective creators find a new audience and will help comic readers find some new talent.
