How to Read Sweet Tooth Comics
Sweet Tooth is an incredible comic about characters growing up and growing together in a post-apocalyptic world. It is also, now, a Netflix series presenting a live-action version of the comics. These positive factors have left many wondering: “How do I read Sweet Tooth comics?” Today, we’re explaining exactly how to approach the comic book series.
Pick a Format
The story of Sweet Tooth is told over the course of 40 comic issues. The easiest way to read all of these comics is through a series of large “book” collections (you can find the first one here). These books gather a little over a dozen comics each and, thus, gather the entire series over the course of three editions. Readers can also choose to read Sweet Tooth through the individual comic issues but, unless they find a great deal on these, this process will likely end up costing more money.
The next step in the process necessitates a decision: physical or digital. The Sweet Tooth large collections are available as either paperback or digital collections. The choice here boils down to a simple matter of personal preference, as individual readers prefer individualized reading approaches.
As an added note, the entire 40-issue Sweet Tooth series is collected in one “Compendium” collection. This Sweet Tooth Compendium contains the full series but is currently only available as a paperback and is not available digitally.
Check the Order
When reading Sweet Tooth via the three book collections, the process is simple. Readers simply need to read these three collections in sequential order. However, readers buying individual comics or smaller collections may want to check out ComicBookWire’s “Sweet Tooth Reading Order” to see how exactly the comic progresses.
Sweet Tooth: The Return
The entire Sweet Tooth narrative is told across the 40 issues of the original series. However, a miniseries was released after the original series ended. This miniseries tells a separate storyline that takes place in the same world.
Sweet Tooth: The Return is set long after the events of the original series. It does not follow any of the same characters but instead focuses on “taking elements of the original series and remixing them into something familiar, but totally new.” This essentially gives readers a way to return to the world of Sweet Tooth and find out what happened in one part of this unique world.
