“Heavy Metal” variant covers on the way from Murder Flacon

A while ago, Image Comics announced Murder Falcon, a new series about using kung fu fury and music to defend the Earth from monsters. Now, we’ve learned that each issue of this new series will feature a variant cover that will pay tribute to the cover of a classic heavy metal album. The first issue will release with a cover based on Judas Priest’s Painkiller.

“Murder Falcon is a series that has a little bit of everything that I love: kung fu, beer, having fun, playing music, and—most importantly—METAL,” said Daniel Warren Johnson, creator of Murder Falcon. “So what better way to celebrate this comic than to homage one of my favorite records, Painkiller by the immortal Judas Priest. YOU’RE WELCOME.”
