The Fantastic Four are coming back to comics!
After much speculation and hype, Marvel is bringing the Fantastic Four back to the world of comic books.
The Fantastic Four has been broken since the universe-altering event Secret Wars. During this event, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and their two children left the main Marvel universe in order to explore and build the multiverse. Left to their own devices, and believing their friends to be dead, the Thing and Human Torch parted ways and went on their own adventures for a while. For all intents and purposes, it looked like the Fantastic Four was done.
However, nothing is forever in comic books, something Marvel proved when they started teasing the return of this super-team. The biggest confirmation that this return was imminent happened in Marvel: Legacy, a comic designed as a prelude to future comics. This prelude ended with an appearance by Valeria Richards and Franklin Richards, their first appearance since Secret Wars.
From here, speculation increased tenfold. Marvel’s publication of Marvel 2-In-One Vol. 1: Fate of the Four fueled this speculation even further as it reunited the Thing and the Human Torch. It also directly dealt with Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman and saw heroes try to solve the mystery of their disappearance.
