DC’s Future State Trade Collections- Initial Information

The next major DC Comics event, Future State, is on the horizon. Though the comics aren’t set to release until January and February, we’ve already got some information about the collections that will gather these comics together. Currently, these collections are set for release across June and July and, with one exception, are paperbacks.

  • Collects Future State: The Next Batman #1-4; Future State: Dark Detective #1-3; Future State: Nightwing #1-2.
  • Release Date: June 15, 2021
• Future State: Justice League
  • Collects Future State: Justice League #1-2, Future State: The Flash: Death Race #1-2, and Future State: Green Lantern #1-2.
  • Release Date: June 22, 2021
• Batman by John Ridley The Deluxe Edition
  • Collects Batman Black & White #1, Batman: The Joker War Zone #1, Future State: The Next Batman #1-4, and a previously unpublished story by John Ridley and Dustin Nguyen.
  • Release Date: June 29, 2021
  • Note: This collection is a deluxe-sized hardcover.
• Future State: Superman
  • Collects Future State: Superman of Metropolis #1-2, Future State: Worlds at War #1-2, Future State: Superman vs. Imperious Lex #1-2, Future State: Kara Zor-El, Superwoman #1-2, Future State: Legion 5000 #1-2, and Future State: House of El #1.
  • Release Date: June 29, 2021

  • Collects Future State: Suicide Squad #1-2, Future State: Teen Titans: Dead of the Class #1-2, Future State: Shazam!: The Death of William Batson #1-2, and Future State: Swamp Thing: Obsidian Sun #1-2.
  • Release Date: July 13, 2021
• Future State: Wonder Woman
  • Collects Future State: Wonder Woman #1-2, Future State: Superman/Wonder Woman #1-2, and Future State: Immortal Wonder Woman #1-2
  • Release Date: July 20, 2021

The six paperback collections listed here appear to encompass nearly all of DC’s planned releases for the Future State event. The only point of confusion comes from the fact that the Future State: Aquaman issues are currently unlisted and that the Future State: Dark Detective issues are listed twice. It may be that these comics are being collected in unique ways; however, if I had to guess, I would assume the solicitations are not fully accurate. Either way, we will keep you updated if new collections are listed or if the information surrounding these collections is updated.
