#ComicWritersChallenge is Giving Fans a Chance to Buy Original Artwork and Support Black Lives Matter
Today we wanted to raise some additional awareness for an awesome new movement taking place within the comic book Twittersphere. Right now, talented creators are auctioning off pieces of original artwork, signed comic books, and other paraphernalia in order to raise money for Black Lives Matter. The campaign is already set to raise thousands of dollars and has only been running for a few days.
Fans can participate in this movement/auction by simply bidding on items on Twitter. Check out the #ComicWritersChallenge hashtag to see the items people are offering for sale. Fans can also check out the Bid Tracker Google Doc designed to track the list of available items and their current highest bids. New information about the campaign and spotlights on some of its biggest items can also be seen on Gail Simone’s Twitter page, as Gail Simone started the hashtag and donated the first pieces of art (which includes a signed and personalized Wonder Woman omnibus along with several pieces of historical, original artwork).
Anyone interested in participating in this campaign should jump in as soon as possible. Several auctions for incredible works of art have already ended and more are ending at all times. Currently, the campaign is set to run until Sunday (6/7) evening. Plus, the more people bidding and participating, the more money will be raised for this incredible cause.
To close, here are just a few examples of the awesome pieces out there right now:
Since I both write and draw comics, my #ComicWritersChallenge is one stop shopping. Reply with your bid (or DM me). It'll be up until Noon CDT Sat. Don't give any $ until I inform you that you won. I'll match the first $200 of your donation to relevant causes. pic.twitter.com/7O6sQDjHJc

I’m auctioning this Dazzler drawing by @JimLee – he gave this to me years ago. I NEVER sell art given to me by friends, but we all need to help show that #BlackLivesMatter. Auction ends 6/5 at 8p PST. Bid on this thread! #ComicWritersChallenge pic.twitter.com/Hrm9ey2VaY
