Batman Beyond (Tim Drake) Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring Batman Beyond (Tim Drake) throughout DC Comics. It may not encompass every one of his appearances, but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

New 52

The New 52 era introduced a new version of Batman Beyond. This version does not have any appearances prior to the New 52 era. However, he does share some of his history with Tim Drake’s New 52 history (Reading Order).

This version of Batman Beyond first appears in the Futures End (Reading Order) series. This series, set in a dystopian version of the DC Universe’s future, introduces the Futures End version of Tim Drake, who plays a large role in the event. The conclusion of Futures End directly sets up a new Batman Beyond series, though there appear to be some unexplained continuity shifts going from the final issue of Futures End to the first issue of Batman Beyond. Tim Drake stars in this new Batman Beyond series.

Notes

1. These issues only feature brief appearances from Tim Drake that do little to contribute to his personal story. However, what happens in these issues advances the overall plot in ways that relate to Tim.
