A Renewed Focus on Articles- 3/25 Update
Hi, there everyone and welcome back to another ComicBookWire update. My name is Tyler and I run, write for, and operate ComicBookWire. Recently, I’ve been putting a lot of work into establishing new article series for the site, and today I want to take a moment to inform everyone about them.
For a long while now, ComicBookWire’s main focus has been on reviewing comics and establishing reading orders to explain how to approach these comics. However, I’ve always wanted to use the site for more than that. So, in order to accomplish do this, I’m placing a renewed focus on different article series that will attempt to help make comic books even more accessible to everyone.
Our “What is?” series will attempt to explain the gist of a comic series or comic book concept that may be unclear to potential fans. For example, our “What is The Umbrella Academy?” article informs readers that this is a comic about a haphazardly constructed “family” of super-powered individuals and lets them know the series is likely to appeal to readers who enjoy non-traditional narratives and unusual takes on heroes. My hope is that this series will help people make more informed decisions about what comic books they want to read. The hub page for our “What is?” series can be found here.
Meanwhile, our “From the Comics” series will attempt to highlight fun or meaningful moments from comic book history. For example, our examination into “The Wedding of Batman & Catwoman” gives fans a peak at how this event came about, while our examination into “Harley Quinn’s Taylor Swift Influenced Hallucination” simply looks at a unique comic where Taylor Swift lyrics secretly permeate the text. My hope is that this series will show readers how fun comics are and, maybe, help them find a new comic to read based on our Recommended Reading. The hub page for our “From the Comics” series can be found here.
I’m even working on articles that don’t fit into either of these series topics but may end up as standalone examinations or may be the precursor to new series, such as our look into the connections between Rocket Raccoon and Rocky Raccoon. All in all, I’m simply hoping to use these articles to explore new topics and introduce more people to the wonderful world of comics.
That’s it for this update but expect more cool stuff from ComicBookWire in the very near future! Thanks for reading and have a wonderful week!
